Memphians gathered in the Bluff City on Saturday, June 14, at Poplar and Highland for a protest organized by Indivisible Tennessee.
Protesters in Memphis and across the country rallied against President Trump on Saturday afternoon, joining the nationwide “No Kings” demonstration.
The demonstrations follow more than a week of large-scale protests in Los Angeles against Mr. Trump’s immigration crackdown and his decision to deploy the military there. Protesters gathered in Liberty Plaza outside of the Georgia State Capitol in Downtown Atlanta.
Memphians gathered Saturday, June 14, as part of the nationwide “No Kings” protests, aimed at opposing what organizers describe as increasing authoritarianism and government overreach. Protesters began lining up at Highland and Poplar around 11 a.m., drawing what appeared to be hundreds of participants.
