BEIJING (Reuters) -The Chinese embassy in Israel has urged Chinese citizens to return home or leave the country via land border crossings as soon as possible, on grounds that the security situation has deteriorated and Israeli airspace remained closed.
The move comes after the Iranian defense minister warned that Tehran would target U.S. bases in the area if tensions escalated.
Rising tensions with Iran and fears of an Israeli strike prompted the U.S. to move some of its nonmilitary personnel out of the region.
