As a military parade rolls through Washington, DC, on Saturday – President Donald Trump’s birthday – millions of Americans are expected to protest in what organizers predict will be the strongest display of opposition to Trump’s administration since he took office in January.

The keynote speaker downtown was the former Trump associate Lev Parnas, who denounced the president's circle as a personality cult.

Across the country, relatively few disruptions were reported during protests and marches where the mood ranged from joyful to defiant.

The massive military parade that President Donald Trump has long wanted is set to step off from the Lincoln Memorial with tanks, bands and thousands of troops
