Subscribers in Southern California of Spectrum’s Internet service experienced outages over the weekend following what company officials said was an attempted theft of copper lines located in Van Nuys, a suburb located 20 miles from downtown Los Angeles.

A spokesperson for the company told Fox News Digital that they discovered that lines had been cut due to vandalism in Van Nuys on Sunday morning, which also impacted other areas. “Early this morning our fiber optic lines were intentionally cut in Los Angeles due to vandalism,” the statement read.

Spectrum says it will provide a full day's credit to customers who lost internet service over the weekend after vandals cut fiber-optic lines in Van Nuys.

Spectrum is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information on a vandalism incident in the Palm Springs area this week. According to the company, individuals intentionally cut its fiber lines on Wednesday in the southeast area of Palm Springs,
