Brooklyn Park police Sgt. Rielly Nordan had just wrapped up his shift early Saturday morning when he heard that Champlin police were responding to a shooting at a home — and one of the victims was a state senator.

A manhunt is underway for the gunman who was impersonating a police officer and had a list of possible targets, officials said.

Vance Boelter, 57, has been charged in the shootings of two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses. The Hennepin County Attorney said Monday that her office intends to pursue first-degree murder charges against him as well.
