The PGA Tour has found its next boss in a long-time NFL executive who announced the news with an open letter and photo of himself alongside Tiger Woods on social media Tuesday morning.

Brian Rolapp, one of the architects of the NFL’s rise to dominance as a media property, has segued to the non-contact sport of golf as CEO of the PGA Tour. The former Chief Media and Business Officer of the NFL will replace onetime IMG exec Jay Monahan in the role.

The PGA Tour announced a significant structural change Tuesday hiring longtime NFL executive Brian Rolapp as the first CEO in the organization's history while beginning the transition away from commissioner Jay Monahan, who will step down in late 2026 concluding a decade with the Tour.
