MILWAUKEE (AP) — Nolan Gorman hit a three-run homer, Willson Contreras added a solo shot in the ninth inning and the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Milwaukee Brewers 8-5 on Saturday to snap a six-game losing streak.
Contreras wanted to send a ‘message’ to his teammates, and did as a disrupting, determining force in to end their six-game losing streak with win vs. Brewers.
Masyn Winn led off the game with a two-strike single to center and, after Ivan Herrera followed with a walk, he scored on Alec Burleson's seeing-eye single up the middle. The Brewers defense helped quell the rally, with Jackson Chourio throwing out Herrera at third on the play, and Quintana escaped without further damage.
