Barbara is expected to continue diminishing through Tuesday. Tropical Storm Cosme is expected to weaken through Thursday morning. Both storms are being tracked through the eastern Pacific Ocean, off the coast of southwestern Mexico, according to the NHC.

Tropical Storm Barbara continues to weaken as it heads northwest away from land and is likely to dissipate by Wednesday.

Barbara is the second named storm to form in the Eastern Pacific in 2025. Storms that form in the Atlantic or the Pacific generally move west, meaning Atlantic storms pose a greater threat to North America. If a storm forms in the Pacific close to land, it can bring damaging winds and rain before pushing out to sea.
