At least six people have died in West Virginia, where flash flooding hit Wheeling and nearby Triadelphia and Valley Grove areas over the weekend.

Wheeling Fire Department Public Informational Officer Philip Stahl said on the MetroNews Morning News Monday the effort to find those still missing would focus on Big Wheeling Creek within the city on Monday. He said the two dozen vehicles washed away in the floodwaters will be checked.

Flash flooding caused by torrential rains has killed five people in northern West Virginia and rescue crews are out searching for three other people who are missing.
