As tanks thundered through Washington DC to the thrashing of heavy metal music, millions turned out across the US in protest. Donald Trump finally had the military parade he had longed for since the days of his first administration, saluting and pumping his fist at the display of 250 years of the US Army’s might.

Attendance appeared to fall far short of early predictions that as many as 200,000 people would attend the festival and parade.
