Thousands of soldiers have descended upon Washington, D.C., from more than a dozen Army divisions across the force, and many of them have meticulously prepared their machines to roll down Constitution Avenue.

"It's really fun, and honestly nerve-wracking," said Jonas Chu, an armored vehicle driver who will appear in the Army's 250th anniversary parade.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Grand military parade in DC marking US Army’s 250th birthday kicks off with tanks, troops and 21-gun salute.

The Army is bringing 28 Abrams tanks to Saturday's parade, each valued at approximately $5 million. Accompanying them will be 28 Bradley fighting vehicles worth $4.5 million each, 28 Stryker infantry carriers and six M109 A7 Paladin self-propelled howitzers.
