Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz reappointed the suspect wanted in connection with the shooting of Minnesota state legislators to a workforce development board. Conservatives baselessly said that implicated Walz in the killing.
Vance Boelter was arrested for allegedly murdering Minnesota lawmaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, amid a manhunt. Boelter, posing as a police officer, also allegedly wounded another politician and had a target list.
From the pulpit on Sunday, Father Joe Whalen exhorted his parishioners to avoid the kind of extreme partisanship and hate that appeared to be behind the killing of one of the church's own, Democratic Minnesota state legislator Melissa Hortman.
