U.S. stocks are drifting lower as momentum wanes from a big rally that had brought them to the brink of their record.

Oracle Corp.’s stock is on pace for its best performance in three-and-a-half years — and analysts like what lies ahead. While Oracle beat expectations with its latest earnings results, analysts seem especially impressed by the company’s guidance and its commentary on the new fiscal year.

The S&P 500 rose 0.4% to pull back with 1.6% of its record. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 101 points, or 0.2%, and the Nasdaq composite gained 0.2%.
