President Donald Trump praised the National Guard for their work after violent protests erupted in Los Angeles over the administration's crackdown on immigration enforcement, with demonstrations set to continue into the afternoon on June 8.

National Guard troops arrived in Los Angeles early Sunday on the order of President Trump after protests roiled the city in recent days as federal law enforcement officers carried out immigration operations in the region.

"All that these troops will be able to do is provide a form of force protection and other logistical support for ICE personnel."
