ChatGPT is down this morning and hundreds of people are reporting issues with the AI chatbot. OpenAI is investigating.

Though you can still access ChatGPT, it currently takes an unusually long time to respond and may end up responding with error messages. Similar issues with error rates and increased latency are affecting Sora and OpenAI’s API, which could affect third-party services.

Fire up ChatGPT and submit any request at the prompt. In return, the AI will tell you that there's an error in the message stream or that something seems to have gone wrong. The trouble is the same whether you use the ChatGPT website, the Windows or Mac app, or the iOS or Android app.

A surprise outage has caused ChatGPT to go offline for users around the world today (June 10) with both the app and API affected by the issue. Reports began appearing on the outage tracking site Down Detector at around 2.
