Murray State was pretty good Monday, but not good enough for Gage Wood. The University of Arkansas starter threw just the third no-hitter in College World Series history and the first in 65 years. It was a little like watching Arkansas play LSU last Saturday, when the Razorbacks were handcuffed by great pitching.
Arkansas junior right-handed pitcher Gage Wood delivered one of the great pitching performances in college baseball history Monday night, as he struck out 19 of his 28 faced batters to cement just the third no-hitter in Men’s College World Series history (first since 1960).
College World Series star Gage Wood could be the perfect fit for one team in need of rotation help. The Arkansas Razorbacks pitcher would help the Chicago Cubs almost immediately.
