Taking the mound for the Giants will be left-hander Robbie Ray, who enters tonight’s game with a 2.44 ERA, 3.03 FIP, with 87 strikeouts to 31 walks in 77.1 innings pitched. His last start was in the Giants’ 3-2 win over the San Diego Padres last Thursday, in which he allowed two runs on four hits with nine strikeouts and a walk in seven innings.

The Colorado Rockies got a win on Thursday and avoided reaching a new low and setting the record for the worst start in the modern era.

Antonio Senzatela (1-10, 6.68 ERA) will start for the Rockies. In his last outing, he came out of the bullpen for the first time since April 27, 2018 against the Miami Marlins after the Rockies elected to use Ryan Rolison as an opener.

Any hope that the San Francisco Giants will get their Gold Glove third baseman back in 10 days is no longer in the cards.
