The big Android update features new ways to organize your notifications and quickly enhance your phone's security.

First, Android on larger screens will look a little more like Windows later this year. In addition to the existing single-app and split-screen modes present on Android now, Google says you will soon be able to open, move, and resize multiple app windows in a single screen, just like a desktop.

Google has announced a slew of upgrades to Google Home, including easier automations, PiP functionality, and more.

Google has launched the new mobile operating system, Android 16, for millions of smartphone users. The design has been revamped and numerous customisation features added. It will soon be available to users of Pixel smartphones.

One of Android 16's most notable new features is the introduction of Live Updates, which are essentially Google's version of Apple's Live Activities. This allows app developers to implement notifications which include live progress bars, helping users to keep track of time-sensitive activities such as Uber trips and food deliveries.

Back at Google I/O, Google announced that it was indeed making a desktop mode or desktop windowing feature for Android 16 that would allow you to connect a phone to a display and get a desktop-like experience.
