Pop hitmaker Sabrina Carpenter addressed the "funny" criticism that she is overly sexual in her lyrics and if she's "doing the single thing."

The actress and singer released the lead single from her forthcoming album — "Manchild" — on Thursday, June 5.

“I don’t want to be pessimistic, but I truly feel like I’ve never lived in a time where women have been picked apart more, and scrutinized in every capacity,” she said.
