India’s aviation regulator DGCA has mandated enhanced safety inspections for Air India’s entire Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 fleet to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

The deadly crash of a Boeing 787 from Ahmedabad to London threatens to derail Air India’s ambitious comeback, raising serious questions about aircraft safety, management oversight, and operational transparency.

"We still have confidence in the airplane; we have 34 787s in the KLM fleet," Ben Smith, CEO of the Franco-Dutch airline group, told the Paris Air Forum conference on Friday, noting that the tragic accident is under investigation.
